#IYKYK – Youth Mental Health

As students across Tampa Bay return to classrooms, the spotlight on youth mental health has never been more urgent. That’s why we’re proud to share the latest addition to our ongoing #IYKYK anti-stigma campaign: eight brand-new videos that offer a powerful, behind-the-scenes look at youth mental health through the eyes of the trusted adults in their lives.
This new series features a diverse range of voices, including parents, educators, and child psychiatrists, who share their insights into supporting the mental well-being of today’s youth.
In five informative and approachable videos, child psychiatrists Dr. Brandon DeLiberato, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Assistant Chief Medical Officer at BayCare Behavioral Health, and Dr. Jennifer Katzenstein, Pediatric Neuropsychologist and Director of Behavioral Health at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, break down essential topics, including:
- Mental Health Starts at Home
- When Worry Doesn’t Go Away
- How Do I Know If My Child Is Okay?
- You Are Not Your Thoughts
- Using Social Media Mindfully
You’ll also hear from two courageous parents. Carrie shares her family’s journey through her son’s experience with depression, while Patience speaks movingly about her son’s grief and healing.
Finally, Courtney from Hillsborough County Public Schools shares what she wishes every parent knew about youth mental health.
At Tampa Bay Thrives, we know stigma keeps too many people from getting the help they deserve. IYKYK is our invitation to change that by sharing real stories of healing and hope.
These honest conversations from parents, educators, and child psychiatrists remind us that when trusted adults speak up, listen, and support youth, we create space for connection and recovery.
