How to Join the Mental Health Movement

Improving mental health across our communities is not an easy feat. Explore these resources to find out how you can be a part of the movement.

Start with yourself. You can’t help others without helping yourself first. Learn about the benefits of a planned mental health day and plan your own with this piece from Mayo Clinic.

Make mental health a normal topic of conversation. Not talking about mental health only adds to the stigma that surrounds it. Dive into these toolkits on how to talk to your children, friends, or employees about mental health to help normalize the conversation.

Focusing on the workplace. Talking to employees about mental health is only the first step. This guide from the Mental Health Foundation showcases how to support mental health at work. Take your commitment to the next level by getting your organization Bell Seal Certified.

Share your story. According to the Harvard Business Review, “When leaders of all levels share their personal stories, it reduces stigma and normalizes the ups and downs of being human — especially as a high-performing professional.” Learn more about the benefits of leaders sharing their own mental health journeys here.
