Walk + Release by @bernettastyle

About
When life feels heavy, one small practice I use to support my mental health is walking and writing.
Walking alone without being on my phone gives me space to breathe, talk to God out loud, take in nature, and hear myself think. Sometimes I walk in silence. Sometimes clarity and new ideas come. Movement helps shift things that feel stuck.
Writing helps me get thoughts out of my head and heart and onto paper. Holding things in hurts us in the long run. When we can’t say what we need to say to the person we want to say it to, writing gives us a place to release it. When we write things down, we can also come back later and see how far we’ve grown.
This practice isn’t about fixing anything. It’s simply about making space to breathe, reflect, and let go.
How to Use This
Take a walk alone, even if it’s short.
Breathe. Notice what’s around you.
When you’re ready, write freely. No editing. No pressure.
Reflection Prompts
You can start with any of these, or let your thoughts go where they need to go.
  • What am I holding in right now?
  • What do I need to release, or what should I release?
  • What do I need to let go of?
  • What am I willing to let go of in order to grow?
  • How am I feeling in this exact moment?
Closing Thought
You can always come back to what you write. Sometimes seeing your words later reminds you how much you’ve grown and how far you’ve come.
