Breathing With Syd: Bubble Breath

Together we are going to create a foundation of protection. This exercise assists us with emotional regulation and helps us take space to thoughtfully respond rather than react to people or situations. 

Ground your physical self by placing your hands on a counter, table or perhaps the arm of a chair. Preferably you’re seated when doing this technique with closed eyes. Inhale through the nose, exhaling into the belly creating a bubble in the belly. After a few breaths, extend the bubble to an energetic space and boundary around your entire body. This space provides you protection as well as space to contemplate how you’d like to respond. This bubble or fraction of time is small but can be monumental when moving throughout your day.
